Tan Siok Kiang is a full-time free lance art teacher in Singapore. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia in 2001. Prior to her degree, she had obtained a Diploma in Fine Arts and completed a Graphic Design Certificate Course at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in Singapore.

Siok Kiang has had 26 years of experiences teaching Art & Craft in schools and private institutions. Siok Kiang’s career as a free lance private art tutor began in 1987. Since 1999, she has been conducting Art Enrichment courses, Art Appreciation and Primary Six Post-Exam Art Courses in various primary schools such as Compassvale Primary School, Paya Lebar Methodist Girls School, Seng Kang Primary School, St. Gabriel Primary School and Xing Hua Primary School. Apart from students, she also conducted art workshops for teachers. Between 2002 and 2010, she has been the Resident Artist in Raffles Girls Primary School for 9 years.

The achievements of Siok Kiang’s students are testaments to her teaching effectiveness. Under her guidance, her Primary 4 and 5 students were respectively awarded the Top 5 Prize and Special Prize in Community In Bloom (CIB) School Arts 2010 competition organized by National Parks. In the same year, her Primary 6 student won ‘The Highly Commended’ award in the junior section of UOB Annual Art Competition. In 2009, her Primary 3 student was awarded ‘The UOB Most Promising Young Artist’ in the UOB Painting of the Year Competition.
